The Giza Pyramids
Since the 1st Dynasty, which flourished from roughly 2620 to 2500 BC, the area near the Giza Pyramids has served as a significant cemetery. Situated on the western edge of the Nile Valley, the pyramids of Giza are among the most well-known and ancient structures still standing in human history. The pyramid of Pharaoh Cheops is the biggest and most well-known pyramid. Approximately three million stone blocks were used to build it. The pyramid of Pharaoh Khafre is located in the middle, while the pyramid of Pharaoh Menkaure is the smallest of the three pyramids at Giza. Admire these enormous structures and take in the breathtaking view of Cairo from the plateau.
Next, we proceed to the renowned Great Sphinx of Giza.
Giza's Great Sphinx
The largest and most well-known sphinx in existence today, it is a recumbent lion with a human head that was most likely constructed between 2520 and 2494 BC during the 4th dynasty. For over four millennia, it has been rising above the sands of the Egyptian desert. The Sphinx was sculpted from the remnants of a limestone hill that functioned as a mine for the Cheops pyramid.
